Waiakea’s Shon Katahira and Kamehameha’s Pono Yanagi each fired 73s Wednesday at Volcano to share medalist honors at the third BIIF golf meet of the season.

It was the second victory for Yanagi and first of the year for Katahira.

Makua Lani’s Matthew Rosato, who won last week at Waikoloa, came in at 75, as did Kamehameha’s Kalai Pomroy and John Andrade.

With an 80, Waiakea’s Mari Ebersole claimed medalist honors on the girls side for the first time, though she was the third Warriors’ winner on the season. Teammate Jillian Mitsuda was another four shots back as the Warriors cruised to first place.

Waiakea’s boys also were first.
